Moolmanshoek - January 2003

We first went to Didibeng. There we came across a very large mushroom and our friends said it was edible so we picked it and cooked it - It was really delicious but we do not have the necessary knowledge to risk picking and eating a mushroom ourselves.

In Moolmanshoek we went with Francois Rossouw of Radio Sonder Grense. On this trip I was assisted onto the back of a horse. I thought that perhaps horse riding lessons might help and Wiesman who led the party told me that this would be impossible. At my age and with the apparent skills I showed it was too late in my life to achieve this as I would be dead long before I mastered the skill required.

The food is excellent and the guidance exceptional. Horse riders go ahead to open gates and assist in navigating the obstacles. This is a lovely 4x4 driving experience in the sandstone hills.
